The girl didn't have time to scream in the quiet house when Death punctured her heart with her steel, well, her partner's steel. Billy-Ray Sanguine and Death were the hardest and best hitman duo there was. They had dated briefly until a little encounter with Dexter Vex, Death's ex.
The girl's blood brought colour into the white bedroom and Death got out her phone. She pressed call and waited. It rang three times until a woman picked up.
"I'm assuming your work is done." She said in a Russian accent. "And if it wasn't, you'd be dead." There was a sigh. "What do you want?"
Death straightened and jumped out the window, one handed. "I'm just reporting to say that I'm done and I am inquiring on my payment, ma'am." Death closed the window and strode out of the backyard.
"Your payment will be delivered when your contract has been fulfilled."
Death stopped in the middle of the wet road, and was rewarded by a blasting of a car horn. "What, ma'am?"
Death's boss sighed. "I said that you have more work on your contract, Miss Rose. A girl, she might not seem like much," she added when Death scoffed, "she's a Necromancer, her power lies in her necklace and she is known to carry a crossbow and daggers."
The hitman laughed. "A girl?! Seriously?!" Death put the phone down and clutched her stomach.
"Do not laugh, Miss Rose! She is dangerous and she lives in Australia."
"Ah," Death sighed, "the wonderful land of Aus? Sounds easy. So why her?"
There was a reluctant pause on the other end of the line. Death heard white noise from a nearby house and peeked through a nearby window. Her golden hair swan in her face and she blew it back off her nose. "Because," she said finally, tears in her voice, "she killed a person very dear to me. Her name is Miss Cain."
Death brushed her white leather jacket pockets for her ear piece. She found it and linked it to her phone, she stuck it in her right ear and said, "while, easy as metophorical pie!"
She hung up and walked passed the mini-mansion, just as a scream pieced the night sky. She smiled, job well done!
She took out her phone and called an old friend, arranged transport to Australia in the morning and sighed happily. After all, it had been a long time since she had been home.
